Leslie Breen Completes First Marathon
FitLife client and current member of the University of Virginia Crew Team, Leslie Breen entered and finished the New York City Marathon on November 5th. Leslie had been training since the early summer to complete the grueling 26.2 mile run, an accomplishment many people in life dream of. "The marathon was awesome" said Leslie; she finished in 4 hrs, 32 min, 40 sec...Only 40 sec off her projected time. Excellent for her first marathon. That put her in the top 20% of people in her age category, top 1/3rd of all women, and top half overall. Congratulations, who knows what is next . . . possibly an IRONMAN???
Stanton & McCloskey Run In Greyhound 5K
One has never run in a 5K and the other hasn't in 15 years. Kevin McCloskey celebrated his birthday on November 6th by finishing his first ever 5k run in an impressive 27 minutes on a very hilly course at Tyler State Park. Jim Stanton has not competed in a running race for 15 years and his first time back he came in 4th place in his age group missing the podium by only 13 seconds. Both guys did a great job and look forward to their next challenge of the Northampton 5K in spring 2006.

FitLife supports Greyhounds at 5K Run and Walk
Members and their families of the FitLife Performance Center ran and walked to help support the stoppage of greyhound racing. It was a beautiful day to exercise and enjoy the fall foliage at Tyler State Park in Newtown, Pa. The money raised goes to an organization to help in the adoption, treatment, and protection of the greyhounds. FitLife thanks everyone who contributed one way or another to this 'Greyt' cause.
